Café Scientifique is where everybody curious about science can meet. Over a drink you will learn about the latest ideas and issues in science and technology directly from the scientists. At these very informal events are group discussions, triggered by questions from the audience, the most important ingredient.

Abstract for Cafe Scientifique June 16:

In this gut-themed Café Scientifique, the panel will consist of one Medical Doctor, one Immunologist and one Microbiologist who will share their expertise in intestinal function and disease. All three scientists have one thing in common; they are dedicated to unravelling the mystery of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Approximately one out of two hundred Canadians has IBD and this significant group of patients is constantly growing. Still there is no cure on the market. Acknowledging one another’s complementing strengths our three guest speakers have come together as a team at the Child & Family Rsearch Institute to more effectively combat IBD.
